Where East Point players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

East Point families sit just southwest of Atlanta, close enough to reach the metro's club and rec programs while still needing coaches who travel rather than fields built into town.

How players come up here

The programs a East Point player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK to grade 8

    Rec entry through Surge Lacrosse

Players typically start in rec leagues such as Surge Lacrosse's K to 8th grade program in Atlanta, which introduces stick skills and game rules before travel play becomes an option through Surge Select.

  2. Middle school

District feeder and age group teams

Middle schoolers mostly move into high school district feeder programs and age-group teams, with the Atlanta Lacrosse League adding fall middle school divisions for players building toward a high school roster spot.

  3. High school

    GHSA divisions across the metro

GHSA sanctions boys and girls lacrosse in Divisions 1, 2 and 3, with practice opening in mid-January and the season running into playoffs by late April and state finals in mid-May.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club tryouts into fall tournaments

Club and travel sides such as Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces and Atlanta Surge Select hold tryouts often in July, then play fall tournaments through summer events once high school season ends.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around East Point use an independent coach.

When families book

Many families book their second wave of private sessions in summer around club tryouts, then again in winter once box lacrosse and indoor training ramp up, with the coach traveling to East Point instead of the other way around.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in East Point?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in East Point?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in East Point?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
