Training Programs

About Our Lacrosse Training Program

The STXZ private lacrosse training program is focused on primarily improving the Player’s technical skills such as cradling, passing, catching, shooting, ground ball scooping, and on-field awareness. What makes us different is that we are a mobile service, meaning we send the Trainer to your location to train the player in your backyard or a nearby field in your area.

STXZ offers 1 hour classes only and our private lacrosse trainers are experienced in giving these lessons to players of all different ages. We require our Trainers to have a minimum of 2+ years of experience coaching all ages. Our trainers carry a range of mid to high level coaching licenses and certifications. All of our Trainer’s are carefully screened and background checked!

Train in your backyard
STXZ offers at home private lacrosse lessons right in your backyard/frontyard! Our lacrosse trainers travel to your location!

Train at a Nearby Field
STXZ offers private lacrosse lessons at a nearby field in your location! Once matched with a trainer, you can discuss what lacrosse field would be best for both of you!

Your Trainer will develop a customized lesson plan based around what the Player’s goals are to help improve their game. Your Trainer will provide personalized 1 on 1 attention that you can’t get at camps or clinics.

We offer 1 on 1 training, or semi private group training up to 3 players in an at home backyard setting or at a nearby field in your area. If you are looking for group training, you have the option to have the Trainer teach each player in a 1-on-1 format for a split amount of time, or the Trainer can teach all players in the group together. We highly suggest the 1 on 1 format as each player will have that undivided attention.

Why Private Lacrosse Training Is Important

Lacrosse is one of the most fastest sports in the US, and having better lacrosse skills will help newer to novice players receive more playing time on the field as well as join higher level teams and leagues. Given some of the safety dangers involved with the activity, many parents are reluctant to allow their children to play lacrosse.

Parents may find it easier to decide whether or not to allow their kids to play lacrosse if they know and understand a few benefits.

First of all, it’s a team based sport, which will help the player learn core fundamental communication and team participation skills that the player can utilize later on in life. Lacrosse is also a rough sport, which will help build “tough-skin” for the player, which alot of younger player’s may lack due to the decline of physical sports participation based on statistics.

It’s also important to ensure you are matched with the right lacrosse trainer for you. This is why we ask specific questions on our registration form to ensure you are matched properly. Our lacrosse trainer will be able to evaluate exactly what the player will need to improve on, and then come up with a custom private lacrosse training program based on that information.

Private lacrosse training doesn’t have to be boring or hard either! Our lacrosse coaches will ensure a fun learning environment at all times.

All lacrosse drills are planned, tested, and well created to ensure to spark creativity and progress the player’s performance on the field.

Alot of times, the player may have a certain mindset about their own performance, maybe they think they are better than they think, or worse, but with private lacrosse training, the lacrosse trainer will be able to bring the player down to a realistic level, and really improve on the areas that need improving.

This is a very common issue among competitive lacrosse players and with the right lacrosse coach, STXZ can help with that.

Alot of times, parent’s make the mistake of thinking that lacrosse practice is enough, and that their child will improve from lacrosse practice alone. This is false, most of the time, 1 on 1 private lacrosse training is where the improvement is. The benefit and cost of the 1 on 1 lacrosse training, is well worth it and will speed the learning process up.

Watching the professional lacrosse player’s on TV can spark a deeper interest to improve ones lacrosse skills. This is another reason why private lacrosse training is so beneficial to the players goals. Whether that is learning a new move on the field, increasing their shooting skills, STXZ can help!

Private Lacrosse Lessons vs. Camps/Clinics

When it comes to improving your lacrosse skills, you have a couple of excellent options to consider: private lacrosse lessons and camps/clinics. Each offers unique benefits and can cater to different needs and preferences. Understanding the key differences between these two training formats can help you make an informed decision that aligns with your personal goals and learning style.

Private Lacrosse Lessons: Personalized and Focused Training

Private lacrosse lessons provide a one-on-one coaching experience that is entirely tailored to the individual player. These sessions allow for personalized attention, where the coach can focus solely on your specific needs, helping to identify and correct any weaknesses in your game while also building on your strengths.

  1. Customized Coaching: In private lessons, the coach can create a customized training plan that addresses your unique goals, whether it’s improving your shooting accuracy, defensive tactics, or any other aspect of your game.

  2. Flexible Scheduling: Private lessons offer flexibility, allowing you to schedule sessions at times that suit you best, making it easier to fit training into a busy schedule.

  3. Immediate Feedback: With one-on-one attention, you receive immediate feedback on your performance, enabling quick adjustments and accelerated learning.

Camps/Clinics: Community Learning and Broad Skill Development

Lacrosse camps and clinics provide a group learning environment where players can develop their skills alongside their peers. These settings offer a broader focus, covering various aspects of the game and providing opportunities to apply skills in a more dynamic or competitive context.

  1. Broad Skill Exposure: Camps and clinics often cover a wide range of skills and strategies, providing a comprehensive learning experience that can benefit all areas of your game.

  2. Social Interaction: Participating in camps and clinics allows you to connect with other players, fostering a sense of community and teamwork. It’s an excellent way to build camaraderie and learn from the experiences of fellow lacrosse enthusiasts.

  3. Competitive Play: Many camps and clinics incorporate scrimmages or competitive drills, giving you the chance to apply what you’ve learned in game-like situations and under the pressure of competition.

Making the Right Choice

The decision between private lessons and camps/clinics should be based on your personal goals, learning style, and the specific areas of your game you wish to develop. If you’re seeking a highly personalized training experience with direct feedback, private lessons may be the way to go. However, if you’re looking to improve a broad set of skills and enjoy the benefits of learning in a group setting, camps and clinics might be more suitable.

Ultimately, both private lessons and camps/clinics can play a pivotal role in your lacrosse development journey. By understanding the unique advantages of each, you can select the option that will best support your growth as a lacrosse player and help you achieve your on-field aspirations.
