Where Kennesaw players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Kennesaw families sit close to the Cobb County programs and Marietta high schools that anchor lacrosse in this part of metro Atlanta, feeding both boys and girls into the GHSA season.

How players come up here

The programs a Kennesaw player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK to grade 8

    Rec leagues and youth teams

Younger players in Kennesaw typically start through rec-style leagues before moving into age-group programs, with Cobb County families often feeding into Marietta-based youth teams as a first step toward school-affiliated lacrosse.

  2. Middle school

    Feeder programs before high school

Middle schoolers in the Kennesaw area often play through district feeder programs, including Wheeler Jr. Wildcat Lacrosse and Walton Jr. Lacrosse in nearby Marietta, building the stick skills and field sense that high school coaches expect from incoming players.

  3. High school

    GHSA season and playoffs

The GHSA season opens practice in mid-January, starts matches in early February, and runs playoffs into late April with state finals in mid-May. Kennesaw players in this corridor often aim for Marietta programs like Walton, Division 3 boys, or Lassiter, Division 2 girls.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel lacrosse

Once the high school season ends, club and travel programs including Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces and Atlanta Surge Select carry players through fall tournaments and summer events, with tryouts often held in July.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Kennesaw use an independent coach.

When families book

Because the coach travels to the family rather than the reverse, Kennesaw parents can schedule sessions at home fields or nearby parks. Most booking happens before GHSA tryouts in January and again ahead of club tryouts in early summer.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Kennesaw?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Kennesaw?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Kennesaw?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
