How players come up here

The programs a Cobb County player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK to grade 8

    Rec and youth entry

Young players in Cobb County typically start through youth programs feeding Marietta's district, with Wheeler Jr. Wildcat Lacrosse and Walton Jr. Lacrosse offering the earliest structured play before kids move into school-based teams.

  2. Middle school

    District feeder programs

Middle schoolers mostly play through age-group teams tied to their eventual high school, with Wheeler Jr. Wildcat Lacrosse and Walton Jr. Lacrosse serving as the Marietta feeder path into GHSA competition.

  3. High school

    GHSA varsity season

Walton in Marietta competes in GHSA Division 3 boys and Lassiter plays GHSA Division 2 girls, with practice opening in mid-January, games starting in early February, and playoffs running into mid-May state finals.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel play

Players moving into club lacrosse can join options such as Team 91 Georgia and Dirty Birds for boys or Atlanta Aces for girls, with club seasons running from fall tournaments through summer events after the high school season ends.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Cobb County use an independent coach.

When families book

Families in Cobb County most often add lessons during the summer wave, once club tryouts settle rosters, then again in winter to prepare for GHSA practice opening in January. The coach comes to the family, so no drive to a facility is needed.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Cobb County?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Cobb County?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Cobb County?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
