Where Clarkdale players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Clarkdale players build their game through Cobb County's district feeder teams and club programs, following the same GHSA calendar that runs from January practices to May state finals.

How players come up here

The programs a Clarkdale player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK to grade 8

    Rec and youth entry points

Young players in this part of the metro typically start in rec or youth leagues tied to nearby districts, such as programs feeding into Cobb County high schools, before moving into age-group teams as they approach middle school.

  2. Middle school

    District feeder teams

Middle schoolers often join age-group teams like Wheeler Jr. Wildcat Lacrosse or Walton Jr. Lacrosse in nearby Marietta, and the Atlanta Lacrosse League adds fall middle school divisions for additional game time.

  3. High school

    GHSA varsity season

GHSA sanctions boys and girls lacrosse in three divisions, with practice opening in mid-January, matches starting in early February, and playoffs running into mid-May state finals. Nearby Cobb County programs include Walton and Lassiter.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel play

Club options such as Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces, and Atlanta Surge Select run fall tournaments through summer events after the high school season ends, with tryouts often held in July.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Clarkdale use an independent coach.

When families book

Many families here reach out before GHSA practice opens in mid-January, aiming to get ready ahead of early February matches. Because coaches travel to the family, sessions can happen at home or a nearby park instead of requiring a trip into Atlanta.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Clarkdale?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Clarkdale?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Clarkdale?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
