Where Riverdale players train, and when
The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.
Riverdale families sit south of Atlanta's lacrosse hub, so players here typically build skills through private coaching and nearby STXZ towns before joining the region's rec, school, and club programs.

Early rec and league entry
Riverdale does not have its own named rec league in the fact sheet, so families typically connect with programs to the north or enroll in a nearby STXZ town's rec offerings, then round out fundamentals with private coaching close to home.
-
Middle school
Feeder and age-group play
Middle schoolers across the Atlanta area mostly play through high school district feeder programs and age-group teams, with the Atlanta Lacrosse League adding fall divisions. Riverdale families use these same pathways since no district feeder is named locally.

High school
GHSA season, February to May
GHSA sanctions boys and girls lacrosse in three divisions, with practice opening in mid-January, games starting in early February, and state finals in mid-May. Riverdale players compete within this statewide GHSA structure.

Summer and fall
Club, travel, and fall ball
Once the high school season ends, club options like Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces and Atlanta Surge Select run through summer events, with tryouts often in July, while fall ball runs September to November for players staying sharp.

When families book
Families in Riverdale most often reach out in December, ahead of the mid-January GHSA practice start, and again in late summer before fall ball. The coach travels to the family, so there is no drive north required.

Talk to the STXZ teamCan I pick the coach I want?
STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.
Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Riverdale?
Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.
When do I actually pay?
Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.
What does it cost in Riverdale?
Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.
What if the first session is not a fit?
Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.
Where can we train, and what should we bring?
A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.
