Where Barrington players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Barrington lacrosse players move from NJSIAA spring programs into a club and travel layer that stretches through summer and fall, with private coaching available right in the neighborhood.

How players come up here

The programs a Barrington player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 8

    Rec and travel entry programs

Girls in grades 3 through 8 compete through the Philadelphia Area Girls Lacrosse Association, while boys enter through the Southeastern Pennsylvania Youth Lacrosse Association framework. Some younger players participate in intramural or clinic programs before moving into full travel schedules by third grade.

  2. Middle school

    League play through 8th grade

SEPYLA and PAGLA carry middle school players on a mid-March to late May schedule built around one weekend game and two weeknight practices each week. These years are when position habits form and players start thinking seriously about the high school roster.

  3. High school

    NJSIAA spring season

Barrington high school players compete under the NJSIAA on the same spring calendar used across the Philadelphia hub, with practices opening in early March and league games running through mid-May. Private coaching in the January and February window helps players arrive at tryouts with sharper fundamentals.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel lacrosse

Club and travel play runs June through July and again in the fall, with tryouts and weekend tournaments across the region. Clubs including Delco Lacrosse, Duke's Lacrosse Club, Mesa, Team TEN, Dynasty Elite, and Forge Lacrosse Club hold tryouts around the hub, giving Barrington players strong options close by.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Barrington use an independent coach.

When families book

Families preparing for club or high school tryouts tend to book first, usually in January and February before the spring season opens. The independent coach travels directly to the family, so no gym or field rental is needed.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Barrington?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Barrington?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Barrington?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
