Where Riverside players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Riverside players move through a full youth-to-travel path on the New Jersey side of the Philadelphia lacrosse corridor, with NJSIAA spring competition and regional club play shaping the calendar year-round.

How players come up here

The programs a Riverside player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 8

    Rec and youth entry programs

Young players in Riverside enter through town rec programs before joining the broader Burlington County youth lacrosse landscape. Boys in grades 3 through 8 compete in SEPYLA and girls in PAGLA, each running a mid-March to late May schedule with weekend games and weeknight practices.

  2. Middle school

    SEPYLA and PAGLA league play

SEPYLA and PAGLA carry players through 8th grade on the same spring schedule, giving middle schoolers structured league competition before high school tryouts. One weekend game and two weeknight practices each week build the consistency that coaches look for at the next level.

  3. High school

    NJSIAA spring season

High school players in Riverside compete under the NJSIAA on the same spring calendar used across the region, with practices opening in early March and league games running through mid-May into the state tournament. Tryouts in late February make the weeks before the season the most competitive stretch of the year.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel lacrosse

Club tryouts around the Philadelphia hub run in June and July, with organizations such as Mesa, Team TEN, Dynasty Elite, Forge Lacrosse Club, and Duke's Lacrosse Club drawing players from across the river and throughout Burlington County. Tournament weekends continue through the summer, and fall ball keeps players active into November.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Riverside use an independent coach.

When families book

A coach travels directly to your family in Riverside or anywhere nearby in Burlington County. Families here most often book sessions in January and February before spring tryouts, and again in July and August before fall ball begins.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Riverside?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Riverside?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Riverside?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
