Where Palmyra players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Palmyra players move through a South Jersey lacrosse path tied to the NJSIAA spring season, PAGLA and SEPYLA youth leagues, and a regional club circuit that runs from June through the fall.

How players come up here

The programs a Palmyra player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 2

    First steps in the game

The youngest players in Palmyra enter lacrosse through introductory clinic and intramural formats common to South Jersey towns, building basic stick skills before stepping into league play. Private coaching at this stage focuses on catching, throwing, and cradling in a low-pressure setting the family arranges locally.

  2. Grades 3 to 8

Youth and middle school league play

Boys in grades 3 through 8 compete in SEPYLA and girls in PAGLA, both running mid-March to late May with one weekend game and two weeknight practices. The schedule is consistent across Burlington and Camden county towns, giving Palmyra players a full spring of competitive reps before the high school transition.

  3. High school

    NJSIAA spring season

High school lacrosse in New Jersey runs under the NJSIAA on the same spring calendar as Pennsylvania, with practices opening in early March, league games through mid-May, and postseason play into late May and early June. Independent coaches help Palmyra players prepare for tryouts and sharpen position-specific skills during the season.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel competition

After the school season ends, players around Palmyra connect with regional clubs such as Mesa, Duke's Lacrosse Club, and Forge Lacrosse Club, which hold tryouts in June and July and run weekend tournaments through summer. Fall ball and winter box or indoor clinics from December through February keep development going year-round.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Palmyra use an independent coach.

When families book

Families in Palmyra most often reach out in January and February, ahead of the March practice start and spring tryouts, and again in July and August before fall ball and club tournament weekends. The coach travels to the family.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Palmyra?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Palmyra?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Palmyra?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
