  1. PreK through grade 5

    Rec and travel entry programs

Boys and girls in East Hanover enter lacrosse through youth rec and travel programs that compete in the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League and the New Jersey Junior Girls Lacrosse League. Seasons run from March through mid-June, and registration for many programs opens as early as November.

  2. Middle school

    Junior league competition

Middle school players continue in the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League for boys and the New Jersey Junior Girls Lacrosse League for girls, both of which cover northern New Jersey through 8th grade. These leagues provide structured competition that prepares players for the high school tryout process.

  3. High school

    NJSIAA spring season

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel play

After the high school season, players in the East Hanover area join club and travel teams such as Tri-State Lacrosse, which runs regional travel teams, camps, and clinics for boys. Tournament weekends fill the summer and fall calendar, and indoor clinics bridge the gap through winter.

Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in East Hanover?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in East Hanover?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in East Hanover?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
