Offers for families near Grand Rapids can start arriving once you are on the roster, and you can accept them as soon as all four steps are complete.

A parent, guardian or another adult the family chooses stays for every lesson with a player under 18, start to finish. That is STXZ policy.

Questions

What coaches ask before applying

Anything else? Ask STXZ from the contact page.

Is this independent contractor work?

Yes. Every coach on the STXZ roster works as an independent contractor under the STXZ independent contractor agreement. You decide which offers to take, how far you travel, and when you coach.

How do offers work?

When a family near you registers, STXZ emails you an offer with the lesson package, the general area, and your rate per lesson. Accept the ones that fit your schedule and area.

How does pay work?

Lessons pay $35 to $55 an hour, set per lesson. A 60-minute lesson starts at $35, and longer drives pay more. Your rate is on the offer before you accept, and you are paid per lesson through PayPal.

Does it cost anything to join?

Applying is free. Coaches carry liability coverage through STXZ's policy: $30 a year, with a $0 up front option taken from your first lesson payout.

What do I need before my first lesson?

A background check, the STXZ safety and conduct training, and a signed independent contractor agreement. You must be 18 or older. No degree and no minimum years of coaching are required; your playing and coaching background goes on your profile.

Can I choose my area and schedule?

Yes. You set your travel radius, the days you are free, and the lesson lengths you offer. Families and coaches pick the spot together: a backyard, a town park, or a club field. A parent, guardian or another adult the family chooses stays for every lesson with a player under 18.

Do I need coaching experience?

There is no minimum. College players, former players, and experienced coaches all apply. Your playing and coaching background goes on your profile, and families see it before the first lesson.

Where do lessons take place?

Wherever you and the family agree, inside your travel radius: a backyard, a town park, or a club field. No facility is needed. If a family wants an indoor or paid facility, that cost is theirs.

What ages and levels will I coach?

Families register players from first-year beginners to high school players working toward varsity and college recruiting. Your profile lists the levels and positions you coach, and STXZ matches offers to them.

How much time do I need to give?

There is no minimum. You accept only the offers that fit, and each package runs from a single lesson up to 18. You can also pause your spot on the roster when you need a break.

Can I coach while I am in college?

Yes, if you are 18 or older. College players coach around class and game schedules: you set the days you are free and can pause your roster spot during your own season.

What happens after I apply?

STXZ reviews your application and emails you the next steps: setting up your coach profile, signing the contractor agreement, the background check, and the safety and conduct training, all online.
