Where Tredyffrin players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Tredyffrin anchors a stretch of Chester County where Conestoga Youth Lacrosse, SEPYLA, PAGLA, and a deep high school program give players a clear path from first stick to PIAA playoff lacrosse.

How players come up here

The programs a Tredyffrin player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 2

    First steps in Tredyffrin

Many Tredyffrin players begin with a kindergarten through 2nd grade clinic or intramural program before entering full travel play. These early sessions focus on fundamentals and keep things low-pressure, giving young players a comfortable on-ramp into the Conestoga Youth Lacrosse community.

  2. Grades 3 to 8

    Conestoga youth and middle school

Boys in grades 3 through 8 compete through Conestoga Youth Lacrosse in SEPYLA, while girls play in PAGLA across more than 50 clubs from Chestnut Hill to Kennett Square. Both leagues run mid-March through late May with weekend games and weeknight practices, carrying players through middle school on the same schedule.

  3. High school

    Conestoga and the PIAA season

Conestoga is a consistent PIAA tournament program competing in the Ches-Mont League. Practices open in early March, league play runs through mid-May, District 1 playoffs fill late May, and the PIAA state tournament runs the first two weeks of June with finals at Penn State.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel lacrosse

After the high school season, Tredyffrin players move into club and travel lacrosse with organizations like Mesa and Forge Lacrosse Club, which hold tryouts in June and July and run weekend tournaments through the summer. Fall ball and indoor clinics keep players active from December through February.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Tredyffrin use an independent coach.

When families book

January and February are when Tredyffrin families most often reach out, ahead of late February evaluations and the early March practice start. Coaches travel directly to the family, so sessions fit around each family's schedule and location.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Tredyffrin?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Tredyffrin?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Tredyffrin?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
