Where Morrow players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Morrow families sit south of Atlanta's core lacrosse corridor, drawing on countywide rec leagues and club travel teams rather than a dedicated hometown program.

How players come up here

The programs a Morrow player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK to grade 8

    Rec entry through county programs

Morrow players without a hometown club often start in county-area rec leagues such as Surge Lacrosse's K to 8th grade program in Atlanta, which covers both boys and girls before kids move into district feeder teams.

  2. Middle school

    Feeder teams and age-group squads

Middle schoolers across the metro area typically play through high school district feeder programs and age-group teams, with the Atlanta Lacrosse League adding fall middle school divisions for additional game time.

  3. High school

GHSA season from January to May

High schoolers play under GHSA rules, with practice opening in mid-January, matches starting in early February, playoffs beginning in late April, and state finals held in mid-May across Divisions 1, 2, and 3.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club travel and fall tournaments

Once the high school season ends, players who want more competition move into club and travel programs like Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces, or Atlanta Surge Select, with tryouts often in July and fall tournaments following.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Morrow use an independent coach.

When families book

Since the coach comes to Morrow rather than the other way around, families skip the drive to a facility. Many book in the weeks before GHSA practice opens in January, with another wave ahead of July club tryouts.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Morrow?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Morrow?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Morrow?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
