Where Bryn Mawr players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

How players come up here

The programs a Bryn Mawr player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 2

    Early skills and intramural play

Many Main Line towns run kindergarten through 2nd grade intramural or clinic programs, and some field teams in the Delaware Valley Lacrosse League. These entry points give Bryn Mawr's youngest players their first exposure to the game in a low-pressure setting close to home.

  2. Grades 3 to 8

    SEPYLA and PAGLA town seasons

Boys in grades 3 through 8 compete in SEPYLA, founded in 1987 and organized along school district lines. Girls in the same grades play through PAGLA across more than 50 clubs. Both leagues run mid-March to late May with weekend games and weeknight practices.

  3. High school

    Central League and PIAA playoffs

High school players in Delaware County compete in the Central League. The spring season runs from early March through mid-May, with District 1 playoffs in late May and the PIAA state tournament the first two weeks of June. Programs like Radnor and Springfield-Delco regularly reach the tournament.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club travel and fall ball

Club and travel play runs June through July with tryouts and regional tournament weekends, then returns in the fall. Clubs active around the hub include Delco Lacrosse, Duke's Lacrosse Club, Mesa, Team TEN, Dynasty Elite, and Forge Lacrosse Club. Winter box and indoor clinics bridge December through February.

Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Bryn Mawr?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Bryn Mawr?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Bryn Mawr?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
