Where Lithonia players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Lithonia families connect into DeKalb County's lacrosse pipeline through metro Atlanta rec leagues, middle school feeder programs, and GHSA high school competition each spring.

How players come up here

The programs a Lithonia player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK to grade 8

    Rec leagues and youth teams

Lithonia families typically connect with rec-affiliated youth leagues in the metro area, since most organized youth lacrosse programs are based in the northern suburbs. Coaches can work with players on fundamentals at home, giving early players a head start before joining a league team.

  2. Middle school

    District feeder programs

Middle schoolers mostly move into high school district feeder programs and age-group teams, with the Atlanta Lacrosse League adding fall middle school divisions and fall girls games at Hammond Park. Private sessions help players sharpen stick skills before tryouts.

  3. High school

    GHSA spring season

GHSA practice opens in mid-January, matches start in early February, and playoffs run through late April with state finals in mid-May. GHSA sanctions boys and girls lacrosse in Divisions 1, 2, and 3 across the metro area.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel season

Club and travel programs including Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces, and Atlanta Surge Select run fall tournaments through summer events after the spring high school season ends, with tryouts often in July. Fall ball and winter box lacrosse add reps between seasons.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Lithonia use an independent coach.

When families book

Many Lithonia families book a second wave of private sessions in summer as club tryouts approach, then again in winter as GHSA practice opens. The coach comes to you, so no facility booking is needed.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Lithonia?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Lithonia?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Lithonia?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
