Where Ellenwood players train, and when
The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.
Ellenwood families sit southeast of Atlanta's northern lacrosse corridor, so most structured play connects through Clayton County programs and metro-wide club and rec leagues rather than a hometown club.

-
PreK to grade 8
Rec entry through metro leagues
There is no rec program based in Ellenwood, so young players usually connect through metro options such as Surge Lacrosse, a K to 8th grade rec league open to boys and girls that also runs a travel arm once players are ready for more structured play.
-
Middle school
Feeder teams and fall divisions
Middle schoolers around the metro mostly play through high school district feeder programs and age-group teams, and the Atlanta Lacrosse League adds fall middle school divisions, giving Ellenwood families a fall option even without a local district team.
-
High school
GHSA season and playoffs
The GHSA season opens practice in mid-January, starts matches in early February, and runs playoffs from late April into mid-May state finals, sanctioning boys and girls lacrosse across Divisions 1, 2, and 3 for public and private schools statewide.
-
Summer and fall
Club, travel, and fall ball
Once the high school season ends, club and travel programs such as Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces, and Atlanta Surge Select carry players through summer tournaments, tryouts often held in July, and fall ball running September through November.
Where private coaching fits
How families in and around Ellenwood use an independent coach.
When families book
Summer is the bigger window here, once club tryouts and travel schedules settle and families want focused reps before fall ball. A second wave books in winter as GHSA practice opens in January, and the coach comes to the family for every session.

Talk to the STXZ teamCan I pick the coach I want?
STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.
Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Ellenwood?
Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.
When do I actually pay?
Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.
What does it cost in Ellenwood?
Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.
What if the first session is not a fit?
Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.
Where can we train, and what should we bring?
A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.
