Where Voorhees players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Voorhees players move through a full-year lacrosse calendar anchored by the NJSIAA spring season and extended by a regional club circuit that reaches across the Delaware into the Philadelphia hub.

How players come up here

The programs a Voorhees player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 8

    Rec and youth entry lacrosse

Boys in grades 3 through 8 enter through the SEPYLA structure, while girls in the same grades compete through PAGLA across more than 50 clubs in the region. Younger players in kindergarten through grade 2 often start with intramural or clinic programs before moving into full travel play.

  2. Middle school

    Spring league through grade 8

SEPYLA and PAGLA carry Voorhees players through 8th grade on a mid-March to late May schedule. Each week typically includes one weekend game and two weeknight practices, giving middle schoolers consistent repetitions while balancing school commitments through the spring.

  3. High school

    NJSIAA spring season

High school players in Voorhees compete under the NJSIAA, which runs on the same spring calendar as PIAA programs across the river. Practices open in early March, league games run through mid-May, and the state playoff structure extends the season into late spring for programs that advance.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel circuit

After the high school season, regional clubs like Mesa, Dynasty Elite, and Forge Lacrosse Club hold tryouts in June and July and run weekend tournaments through the summer. Fall ball and indoor clinics from December through February keep Voorhees players active and ready for the next spring.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Voorhees use an independent coach.

When families book

Families in Voorhees most often book in July and August before fall ball and club tournament weekends, then again in January and February ahead of spring tryouts. A coach travels directly to the family, so no facility is needed.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Voorhees?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Voorhees?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Voorhees?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
