How players come up here

The programs a Upper Chichester player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 2

    Early skills and intramural entry

Many Delaware County communities offer kindergarten through 2nd grade intramural or clinic programs, and some field teams in the Delaware Valley Lacrosse League. These entry points give Upper Chichester's youngest players a first look at the game before they age into full SEPYLA or PAGLA travel rosters.

  2. Grades 3 to 8

    SEPYLA and PAGLA league play

Boys compete in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Youth Lacrosse Association and girls in the Philadelphia Area Girls Lacrosse Association, both running mid-March through late May. The schedule includes one weekend game and two weeknight practices, with evaluations in late February and registration opening in fall and winter.

  3. High school

Central League and PIAA spring season

Upper Chichester high school players enter the Central League in Delaware County, with programs like Springfield-Delco and Ridley competing toward District 1 playoffs in late May and the PIAA state tournament in early June. Practices open in early March and league games run from late March through mid-May.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel lacrosse

Club play runs June through July and returns in the fall, with tryouts held in June and July. Organizations like Delco Lacrosse and Forge Lacrosse Club draw players from this part of Delaware County. Winter box and indoor clinics from December through February keep players active between seasons.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Upper Chichester use an independent coach.

When families book

Families preparing for late February SEPYLA and PAGLA evaluations or spring tryouts tend to book private coaching in January and February, with a second surge in July and August before fall ball and club tournament weekends. Coaches travel directly to the family.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Upper Chichester?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Upper Chichester?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Upper Chichester?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
