How players come up here

The programs a Mendham player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK through grade 8

    Rec and youth entry play

Town recreation in Mendham feeds into the same regional youth structure used across Morris County. Girls can enter as early as PreK through programs affiliated with the New Jersey Junior Girls Lacrosse League, while boys programs compete in the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League through 8th grade, with seasons running March through mid-June.

  2. Middle school

    League play through eighth grade

Boys town programs compete in the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League, the US Lacrosse-affiliated league covering northern New Jersey through 8th grade. Girls compete in the New Jersey Junior Girls Lacrosse League, with a full travel season from 3rd grade running March through May.

  3. High school

    Mendham in the NJSIAA tournament

Mendham's high school programs, both boys and girls, are regulars in the NJSIAA tournament. The season opens with practices in March, moves into NJAC league games through April and May, and culminates in the state tournament that starts in late May and finishes in early June.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel competition

After the school season closes, players from Mendham join regional club and travel programs such as Tri-State Lacrosse, which runs travel teams, camps, and clinics for boys across the area. Tournament weekends run through summer and fall, and indoor winter clinics help players stay sharp before spring tryouts.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Mendham?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Mendham?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Mendham?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
