Where Green Tree players train, and when

How players come up here

The programs a Green Tree player moves through, youngest first.

  1. Grades K to 8

    Youth and rec entry play

Boys in grades 3 through 8 compete through SEPYLA, while girls in the same grades play through PAGLA. Younger players often begin in kindergarten through 2nd grade clinic or intramural programs. Private coaching helps beginners build stick skills and confidence before stepping into organized team play.

  2. Middle school

    SEPYLA and PAGLA league seasons

SEPYLA and PAGLA carry players through 8th grade on a mid-March to late May schedule built around one weekend game and two weeknight practices per week. Independent coaches work with middle schoolers on position-specific skills and field awareness to prepare them for the jump to high school competition.

  3. High school

    PIAA spring season

Pennsylvania high school lacrosse runs under the PIAA, with practices opening in early March and league play running through mid-May. District 1 playoffs follow in late May, and the state tournament runs the first two weeks of June at Penn State. Green Tree players connect with programs competing in the region's main public school conferences.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club and travel lacrosse

Club and travel play runs June through July and returns in the fall, with tryouts and weekend tournaments across the region. Organizations like Delco Lacrosse, Mesa, Team TEN, Dynasty Elite, and Forge Lacrosse Club hold tryouts around the hub. Winter box and indoor clinics from December through February keep players sharp between seasons.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Green Tree use an independent coach.

When families book

A coach through STXZ travels directly to the family, removing the need to find a facility. Families in Green Tree most often schedule sessions in January and February before spring tryouts and again in July and August before fall ball.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Green Tree?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Green Tree?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Green Tree?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
