Where Fayette County players train, and when

The local season, the programs players come up through, and how private coaching fits around them.

Fayette County families sit south of Atlanta's northern lacrosse hubs, following the same GHSA season while relying on nearby towns for youth leagues, club teams, and travel programs.

How players come up here

The programs a Fayette County player moves through, youngest first.

  1. PreK to grade 8

    Rec leagues to the north

Fayette County does not have its own named rec league in range, so many families join programs like Roswell Youth Lacrosse or Surge Lacrosse in Atlanta, both of which run spring and fall seasons for young players building fundamentals before middle school.

  2. Middle school

    Feeder teams and fall divisions

Middle schoolers from the area often play up through youth age-group teams tied to high school districts, such as North Fulton United or Roswell Youth Lacrosse, and the Atlanta Lacrosse League adds fall middle school divisions for extra games.

  3. High school

    GHSA season, January to May

High schoolers play under GHSA, with practice opening in mid-January, matches starting in early February, playoffs beginning in late April, and state finals in mid-May, the same divisional structure schools like Walton and Alpharetta compete in.

  4. Summer and fall

    Club tryouts and fall tournaments

Club and travel programs such as Team 91 Georgia, Dirty Birds, Atlanta Aces, and Atlanta Surge Select hold tryouts often in July, then play fall tournaments and summer events once the high school season wraps up in May.

Where private coaching fits

How families in and around Fayette County use an independent coach.

When families book

Families in Fayette County often book a second wave of private sessions in summer, after club tryouts settle and before fall ball begins, with a smaller push in winter around Georgia Swarm Box League play. The coach always travels to the family.

Fields families use

Your backyard, a local park, or your club's field: you and your coach settle it directly, anywhere inside their travel radius.

Talk to the STXZ team
Can I pick the coach I want?

STXZ matches you with an independent coach based on your location, the player's level, position, and goals. You review that coach's profile by email first and can request a different match before anything is billed.

Is this a fit for a brand-new player in Fayette County?

Yes. Tell STXZ where your player is starting so the match accounts for their level. Beginners work on catching, cradling, and ground balls; experienced players focus on their position.

When do I actually pay?

Once you approve a match and agree on a start date, your invoice arrives by email. It is due in full at least five days before the first lesson. Registration itself requires no payment.

What does it cost in Fayette County?

Rates are per lesson and set for your zip code. Packages of 6 and 12 lessons lower the per-lesson rate, and the booking app accepts any count from 1 to 18. There is a one-time $20 service fee per player.

What if the first session is not a fit?

Contact STXZ within seven days of that lesson and choose a rematch with another coach at no additional charge or a refund of the lesson fees paid. The service fee is not refundable.

Where can we train, and what should we bring?

A backyard, park, or school field within the coach's travel radius, arranged directly with your coach. Bring your stick, protective equipment, and water. Indoor or paid facility charges are yours to cover.

Who are the coaches in Fayette County?

Independent contractors on the STXZ roster, not STXZ employees. Each passes a criminal background check and completes STXZ safety and conduct training before taking a first lesson. Coaching and playing history is provided by the coach, and clients are responsible for vetting their matched coach before booking.
